11/18/2005 – EnterInfo completes image asset inventory pilot project for Maryland State Highway Administration.
EnterInfo completed an image capturing and asset collection pilot project for the Maryland State Highway Administration. The project found that the image asset solution was a unique approach to cost-effectively completing the roadside asset inventory work. The EnterRoadInfo project approach converted complicated field data collection work to an office process that could be performed safely in the office. The data collection program runs within ESRI ArcGIS to produce ArcGIS data layers compatible with the existing SHA GIS database. The GIS integration capability allows the created asset layers to be overlaid with existing SHA data layers for planning and analysis purposes. Most importantly, the ability to quickly verify each created asset record is invaluable and probably the only known approach to effectively validate the asset inventory.

1/8/2001 - SHA and EnterInfo to Present Wireless and Voice Activating GIS Applications Jointly at the Towson State GIS Conference and the ESRI Annual Conference
EnterInfo and MSHA CHART Center schedule to jointly present a pilot project at ESRI and Towson University GIS conferences. The pilot project integrates wireless communication, GPS and voice recognition technologies with ESRI Map Objects Internet Map Server solution to report and display the most updated traffic activities and road conditions. This pilot project includes two applications. The first application automates the reporting of the Emergency Traffic Patrol incident. The second reports real time roadway conditions from winter snowstorms to the SHA Winter Storm Mapping System. These applications allows the driver to pre-select the route they are monitoring and report conditions for both travel directions as they travel these routes during severe weather events. The driver enters road conditions either through a voice recognition software or touch-screen input. Using GPS to determine location and the road segment, the applications provide the ability to map road conditions in real time without pre-determined segmentation.
